Board of Review Alternate NeededBoard of Review Alternate Needed

Milton Township is seeking a Board of Review alternate.  If you or someone you know is interested in this position, please send a letter of interest to the Supervisor, Eric Renken at: supervisor@miltontwp.org

The board of review has the authority to do the following:

Change the assessed value of a parcel,

Change the tentative taxable value,

Change the classification,

Grant or deny a hardship or poverty exemption,

Change qualified agricultural property,

Grant exempt status for non-profit organizations or certain religious or charitable properties,

Override the decision of the assessor on a homestead exemption, and

Change clerical errors, mutual mistakes of fact and items such as addresses, descriptions or name misspellings on an assessment roll.

March Board of Review DatesMarch Board of Review Dates

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that because of the State of Michigan mandated COVID-19 precautions, the 2021 Board of Review will be an “online only” virtual meeting. A taxpayer may “write-in” their petition to Milton Township -- Attn: March Board Of Review @ 32097 Bertrand St. Niles, Michigan 49120, to examine and review the 2021 Assessment Roll.  All petitions will need this form completed: Fillable form for BOR

Please call the township to make an appointment to meet virtually with the board of review: 269-684-7262.

The board will convene on the following dates for the hearing of appeals of assessments or taxable values, poverty exemptions, veteran’s exemptions, parcel classification appeals and/or current year qualified agricultural denials:

Tuesday March 2, 2021 2:00 PM Organizational Meeting
Monday March 8, 2021 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM Appeal Hearings
Tuesday March 9, 2021 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM Appeal Hearings
